State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer has subpoenaed hundreds of documents and e-mails from Merrill Lynch that, he states in courtroom paperwork, show that Blodget and other analysts routinely supplied glowing reviews about firms they privately dismissed as "junk" or "crap." Spitzer's business office has subpoenaed at minimum four other expenditure financial institutions.
