The show is a visceral blend of varied influences and tones - from film noir to Sergio Leone Westerns to Bruce Lee to Star Trek and Wars - but someway never ever feels like a mishmash, and is held collectively by beautiful animation, nicely-drawn characters (in many senses), and a masterful jazz rating by Yoko Kanno.
