Note. - "Many of the Jargon phrases, although en- tirely distinct, nonetheless seem so much alike when immediately spoken, that a stranger is apt to get deceived and I have known folks who did not well understand the Jargon get angry with an Indian, assume- ing he experienced said some thing fully dif- ferent from what he really did. The phrases wake, no, and wicht, specifically or immediately after, seem as pronounced, pretty comparable.
