FINRA and the North American Securities Administrators Association have both equally issued trader alerts about bitcoin. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission has issued four "Customer Advisories" for bitcoin and linked investments. In September 2019 the Central Bank of Venezuela, at the request of PDVSA, ran tests to identify if bitcoin and ether could be held in central bank's reserves.
