In Paper Mario 64, Mario's invited to attend a get together at Peach's castle. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door starts with Mario merely heading to Rogueport to sign up for Peach in looking for treasure. Peach goes out for a stroll, just extended adequate for Bowser's minions to enter her castle and wreak havoc with the Vibe Scepter and seize Mario and Luigi.
