A BIER-TE packets BitString hence suggests the edges of the (loop- free) tree that the packet is forwarded across by BIER-TE. Existing multicast procedures assume there are no redundant sources sending the identical flow to the same IP multicast group, and, in situation there were being redundant sources, the receiver's application would offer with the gained duplicated packets.
