Fledglings can be killed by bobcats, lynx, and coyotes, especially when weakened by food lack or illness. Nestlings and fledglings are at occasions killed by their moms and dads (hardly ever) and by older siblings (cannibalism or siblicide), in particular through times of prey shortage.
