Rose produced the movie in reaction to a series of tweets by trans athlete Veronica Ivy, then regarded as Rachel McKinnon, who wrote about hypothetical situations where by trans folks are turned down, and argued that "genital tastes" are transphobic. In a video clip which has now been deleted, YouTuber Riley J Dennis argued that dating "preferences" are discriminatory.
