State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer has subpoenaed hundreds of paperwork and e-mails from Merrill Lynch that, he suggests in courtroom documents, show that Blodget and other analysts routinely presented glowing studies about companies they privately dismissed as "junk" or "crap." Spitzer's place of work has subpoenaed at minimum four other investment decision banks.
