On April 10, 1262, the Mongol leader Hulagu despatched by John the Hungarian a new letter to King Louis IX of France, again providing an alliance. It is unclear regardless of whether or not King Louis basically obtained the letter, but at some level it was transmitted to Pope Urban, who answered in a identical way as his predecessors.
