On April 10, 1262, the Mongol chief Hulagu sent through John the Hungarian a new letter to King Louis IX of France, once more giving an alliance. It is unclear whether or not King Louis truly gained the letter, but at some position it was transmitted to Pope Urban, who answered in a very similar way as his predecessors.
