Following the drop of the Duchy of Brabant and the County of Flanders, Holland became the most economically and politically crucial county in the Low Countries location. Formerly these have been a solitary province, and previously the County of Holland, a remnant of the dissolved Frisian Kingdom that also integrated sections of existing-working day Utrecht.
