The formal language of Thailand is Thai, a Kra-Dai language carefully relevant to Lao, Shan in Myanmar, and many smaller languages spoken in an arc from Hainan and Yunnan south to the Chinese border. The "lying flat" movement, preferred between Chinese youths, also extends to the area of marriage and little one-rearing.
