Signs are gathering that the delay in teenager sex may have been the initial indicator of a broader withdrawal from bodily intimacy that extends well into adulthood. People now in their early 20s are two and a half periods as likely to be abstinent as Gen Xers have been at that age fifteen per cent report getting had no sex because they arrived at adulthood.
