Leda’s struggles are mainly interior, but I’m confident that Gyllenhaal’s uniquely tactile storytelling suggests a good deal more than terms at any time could. Leda results in being obsessed with Nina, as the latter inadvertently resurfaces troubling memories of Leda’s individual distressing activities as a mother.
