Defective by Design is an FSF-initiated marketing campaign versus DRM. On June 16, 2010, Joe Brockmeier, a journalist at Linux Magazine, criticized the Defective by Design marketing campaign by the FSF as "negative" and "juvenile" and not remaining suitable for delivering customers with "credible alternatives" to proprietary software package. The unique intent of the FSF was to promote the beliefs of absolutely free software.
