Bolling was suspended and sooner or later left the community, shifting to a syndicated show created by Sinclair Broadcast Group. He had satisfied overenthusiastic lovers as early as March 1968, when a team attempted to rip Shatner's outfits off as the actor still left 30 Rockefeller Plaza. The first enthusiast convention devoted to the clearly show occurred on one March 1969 at the Newark Public Library.
