Jay has a dry and sarcastic feeling of humor. He often goes overboard in managing his pet dog Stella as his favorite member of the spouse and children, a lot to Gloria's chagrin, and Jay was thrilled when he understood that Joe was not allergic to Stella, but to Gloria's experience cream, in the episode "Rash Decisions." Jay is farsighted (hyperopia).
