The borrowed phrases are categorised into two forms based on phonological integration - tadbhava - all those terms derived from Prakrit and tatsama - unassimilated loanwords from Sanskrit. These were being borrowed from Chinese transliterations. Chinese words like 剎那 chànà (Devanagari: क्षण kṣaṇa 'instantaneous period') were being borrowed from Sanskrit.
