In the 1st series her identify was Asuka Langley Soryu. In the new movies it has altered to Asuka Langley Shikinami. Apparently Anno asked for Shikinami dress in bunny-lady hairclips with the "slutsuit". Anno suggests he would like to make a film of Vol. The 1998 movie was primarily based on the novel by Ryu Murakami.
