May Week was developed at the 2nd countrywide convention in 1920 at Wilberforce University. The initial graduate chapters were authorized in 1920 at the Second National Convention for graduate members in New York City and Washington, D.C. Delta Sigma Theta was the very first nationwide African-American organization to collaborate with Habitat for Humanity International in 1992, throughout National President Bertha Roddey's administration.
