Many non-commercial web pages and networks use com names to advantage from the perceived recognizability of a com domain. Many companies that flourished in the interval from 1997 to 2001-the time regarded as the "dot-com bubble"-integrated the label com into company names these grew to become identified as dot-coms or dot-com companies.
