Some historians credit the Beat motion with sowing the seeds of the flower energy technology of the sixties. The beatniks' darkish berets, sun shades and goatees ended up a much cry from the extended hair, colorful clothing and psychedelic consciousness that arrived to define the period that adopted the 1950s.
