We make exceptions - voting, for instance - and we try to institutionalize bulwarks to keep the passionate minority from overwhelming the passions of the apathetic greater part. It’s not about information, it’s about the gun-grabbers "makin’ shit up" to try to stampede people to move the legal guidelines the gun-grabbers want - whether or not individuals legal guidelines could have an affect on the hazard (or produce a new or worse hazard).
