On 3 June 2002, Slimane was introduced with the "International Designer of the Year" award by the CFDA. Slimane used this notion in the generation of his initial Dior Homme selection. In 2001, the Dior Homme boutique on thirty Avenue Montaigne reopened with a new "modern day masculine strategy" instilled by its designer Hedi Slimane. Historically, thirty Avenue Montaigne is the location in which Christian Dior showcased his first collection.
