On 3 June 2002, Slimane was introduced with the "International Designer of the Year" award by the CFDA. Slimane utilised this notion in the generation of his 1st Dior Homme collection. In 2001, the Dior Homme boutique on thirty Avenue Montaigne reopened with a new "modern day masculine idea" instilled by its designer Hedi Slimane. Historically, thirty Avenue Montaigne is the position in which Christian Dior showcased his very first collection.
