The eight music in the film, which include "Barefoot Ballad," "Pappy, Won’t You Please Come Home," and the title tune, sounded very little like the region songs of the era. Edith Head, Hollywood’s most illustrious costume designer, did the garments for the movie, even developing a unique pair of formfitting jeans for Stanwyck.
