Despite all the prior functions Kim Jong-un has transformed his stance on K-pop because 2021 by referring to it as a "vicious cancer" and viewing it as a risk to North Korean modern society. Korean names (e.g. Baek Ji-youthful, Seo In-young, and Huh Gak) are noticed less frequently, and quite a few K-pop singers have English names (e.g. IU, Sistar, T-ara, GD & Top, Beast, and After School).
