TNA announced a Knockouts tag workforce tournament for the new TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship on the August 20, 2009 episode of TNA Impact!. After months of competition in between the tag groups in the Knockouts division, on October 24 at the Bound for Glory fork out-per-perspective, Madison Rayne declared that after practically eight decades of inactivity, Impact Wrestling is reviving the Knockouts Tag Team Championship.
