What would it say about our determination to liberal concepts if people of us who never belong to communities in which guns have these meanings (and in actuality are puzzled by them) refused to admit (or just could not see the two are linked) that all those who do belong to them understandably see many forms of gun command as expressing hostility and contempt for their values?
