The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards went ahead as scheduled at the Staples Center on the day of the crash, but provided tributes by numerous artists and teams, together with host Alicia Keys opening the display with a tribute speech in which she identified as Staples Center "the property that Kobe Bryant constructed" and joining Boyz II Men to sing "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday".
