The film was shot on area in New Mexico. Parker edited the movie during principal pictures, but was not on locale. 1 Principal photography concluded in November 2012, immediately after 42 days of filming. Production moved to Chilili, New Mexico for two months of filming. In the movie, the 4-person SEAL reconnaissance crew is learned by 3 goat herders-an aged gentleman and two teenage boys.
