Gamma Ray adjusted their title in 1997 right after the German electric power steel band Gamma Ray threatened to sue. The initial release beneath the Queens of the Stone Age title was the music "18 A.D.," unveiled on the compilation album Burn One Up! The identify "Queens of the Stone Age" came from a nickname presented to Kyuss by their producer Chris Goss.
