The Sarawat or Sarat mountain vary operates parallel to the Red Sea coastline commencing in close proximity to the Jordanian border till the southern coast of Yemen, step by step rising in peak southwards. West of the Sarawat or Hejaz mountain vary is a narrow coastal basic recognized as Tihama, in which the country's next major city, Jidda, is positioned.
