Most of the famed Buddha statues in Japan are not Shakyamuni: the fantastic outside bronze Buddha at Kamakura is Amida, and the Buddha enshrined in the Tôdaiji ("Great Eastern") Temple in Nara (the most significant wood building in the globe), is another Buddha named Locana.
