Many argue that to do issues with adults that are ordinarily done with little ones is condescending and "infantilizing." Some argue that it stops adults from mastering adult techniques appropriate for their age. Often people with mental disability are explained this way: They're 30 several years previous or forty many years aged, but they have the "developmental age" of a kid.
