The Tolstoyans were being a small Christian anarchist team formed by Tolstoy's companion Vladimir Chertkov (1854-1936) to unfold Tolstoy's religious teachings. It is the belief that there is only one particular source of authority to which Christians are ultimately answerable, the authority of God as embodied in the teachings of Jesus.
