To remove the dust and dirt collected from your filter, the filter must be "back washed". Especially if you close your pool later in the fall (which I will recommend below) you would not like to enable leaves sit in backside of your pool all winter. Generally, you can select from vinyl and mesh covers. Select one accordingly based for the needs with consideration to get your budget.
