The Left Bank, or Rive Gauche, group is a contingent of filmmakers involved with the French New Wave, initially identified as these by Richard Roud. In France, the General Strike centered in Paris in May 1968 united French learners, and virtually toppled the federal government. The American Indian Movement (or Aim) is a Native American grassroots motion that was launched in July 1968 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
