There was a solid left-libertarian present-day in the British labour motion and the term "libertarian socialist" has been applied to a range of democratic socialists, such as some popular members of the British Labour Party. The Independent Labour Party (ILP) formed at that time drew a lot more on the nonconformist spiritual traditions in the British functioning class than on Marxist theory and had a libertarian socialist pressure.
