In June 2010, he married his 2nd wife, journalist Celia Walden, daughter of the former Conservative MP George Walden. Politically, Morgan discovered as a supporter of the Conservative Party in a 1994 job interview, saying he was "nonetheless fundamentally a Tory", but expressed admiration for the new Labour Party leader Tony Blair, expressing "he's not radical, speaks nicely and will make feeling".
