In response to issues from Sony on the expanding amount of indie video game titles that had been getting actual physical releases alongside retail types, the ESRB began instituting new principles about August 2017 that any retail merchandise was mandated to undergo the regular Long Form evaluate for the activity, disallowing the use of the Short Form for this kind of titles.
