You can usually tell a cacti plant apart from other succulents by its presence of areoles. You can move them later. Once your outdoor succulents become more used to the sun, you can move them into a shaded area. It was the rain that saved my plant.

Most cacti are happier and better able to tolerate more sunlight than other succulents. Little Missy can tolerate more shade that other types of Sedum, but will be most at home in partial sunshine.

To find out what online databases have to say about your succulent, first identify it (genera and specie). But of course, you can go with an ice plant as it is easier to say and remember.
