According to anthropologist Chunghee Sarah Soh, the South Korean military's use of convenience ladies has manufactured "virtually no societal reaction", irrespective of the country's women's movement's assist for Korean comfort and ease women within the Japanese navy. The Japanese community gradually came to undertake some of these concepts and techniques.
